Finally a picture update!!

Here we go!

The onions and some cabbage

Onions up close! For the most part they are hardening off pretty well, i'm loosing a few but nothing major.

Red cabbage and cheese cauliflower.

Old german tomatoes.

Giant tomatoes and tomatillos.

More giant tomatoes.

And some more tomatoes.

This is the basil jungle.

Peppers!

More tomatoes.

Peppers! You can see one growing in the back.

More peppers!!

I had taken a bunch of pictures of the garden but for some reason they didn't make it onto the computer to upload. I can't seem to win with pictures lately.

That's about it! Cheers!

Well my pictures won't load.

I think blogger may hate me today, it won't load my pictures. So a text post it is!

I have 5 out of the 13 rows constructed. Lettuce and Mustard are in the ground, corn is going in today or tomorrow. I planted the lettuce and mustard in a nice 20-20-20 soil composition, i should see some sprouts pretty soon. The corn bed had less nitrogen and i mixed in pro mix to loosen it up a bit. The soil in my garden is very dense since it's pretty clay heavy. The onions are outside hardening off, i have a bit of powdery mildew but it seems to be subsiding. I should really be shoveling right now but, i'm exhausted.

The greenhouse is looking a little less like a jungle so i'm happy about that. I have peppers everywhere! So far mostly just serrano and cubanelle by the looks of it but, with all the blooms i should be seeing lots and lots of peppers very soon.

I've ordered in a bunch of more herb seeds, i should have roughly 10-15 different types. I was aiming for 25 but we just don't have the growing season for most of them. Next year, i'll start them in the greenhouse!

I've very excited for this summer, i hope it goes really well.

Picture update coming this afternoon!

My dance recital is over and now my life can return to normal. luckily i did not make an ass of myself on stage.

ALL of the peppers have flowers on them and i'm heading out to put my onions out to harden and to prep my garden today. It's going to be another long week.

Worked like a dog.

Jac and Cassius.

So many things happening all at once!

First i would like to apologize for the very long stretch between my posts recently. I'm a little overwhelmed to say the least.
Second, everything is looking a little sad and squished in the greenhouse. My tomatoes are finally popping back after their transplant. Because of the weather i'm still at a standstill on transplanting since i have no room in the greenhouse to work.

Now for the picture update!

THE FENCE IS UP!!! The garden is still too wet to get anything done, but at least the fence is up and i have compost being delivered tomorrow morning. I had color coded my fence parts last fall so i would know which part went were. Sadly i didn't remember what color went where but we managed to figure it out.

So much humidity, it fogged up the camera the other day. These are lemon cucumbers, i think.

You know what would be great? More sun. Poor stretched watermelon.

More tomatoes, can't remember what types they are.

More lemon cucumber!

Transplanted tomatoes. They went into a bit of shock but they're starting to come around now.

Onions on my work bench! Now you can see why i can't get any work done.

Giant tomatillo plants.

Hard too see, but my first tomatillo is starting!

Last but not least, the greenhouse. So packed with stuff!

You can see in the above picture i have a backpack sprayer. I bought it in hopes that i wouldn't smell like rotting corpse after fertilizing. It works pretty well, the blood meal tends to clog up the screen in the sprayer but it's not too bad. It holds 4 gallons so it's pretty heavy. The first time i put it on i fell over and couldn't get up and had to yell for my mom to come help me. It had me pinned to the ground!

By next Monday i will be able to start hardening off my plants, and i'll also be able to start planting various things like lettuce, carrots, and beans. VERY EXCITED!!!

I hope everyone's may long weekend is going well! Stay safe everyone.

P.S. Next weekend is my ballet recital...wish me luck lol

The Garlic Has Sprouted!

So my level of busy has increased ten fold, at this point i don't know if i'm coming or going. For those of you who know i dance it's getting close to recital time which happens to over lap with garden prep and transplanting. I've also been helping with the recital pictures every night and i am EXHAUSTED. I figure about mid June after everything is planted i might sleep for 2 days.

I moved some things outside to start hardening off a bit and to make some room for the other things i have to plant. I've been using a floating row cover at night to keep them warm. Yesterday though i didn't get to the greenhouse until late and i cooked my tomato plants, they're slowly coming back but i think i'm going to lose a few. Also didn't help that the neighbors dog decided to visit and dig up a few tomatoes. I almost had a moment but i collected myself and took a deep breath, I've been doing pretty well not letting the stress get to me. No freak outs yet! Even this morning when i woke up to discover i had no coffee. I have coffee now, things are better.

Break time, how do you like my new rubber booties?

Transplanted the GIANT basil yesterday, it was insanely root bound. I think they'll be much happier in 6 inch pots.

So many onions! At least they love this weather, hot days and cold nights.

Onions and my shadow.

Tomatoes that badly need to go in the ground. These are mostly old German and brandywine tomatoes.

My sad cooked tomatoes, they look a little better this morning. I went there at 8am to take off the cover this morning. I've learnt my lesson.

The greenhouse!

It's the garden! A giant soupy muddy mess.

It's the garlic!!!

All in all my days have been long, busy, and stressful but, i'm having the time of my life. I wouldn't change a thing!

Oh! I forgot! I finally named my farm. It's called HSA Farm....can you figure out what the HSA stands for?

So Busy!!

I apologize for not having an update. It's coming soon!

I've been busy as hell in the greenhouse. Transplanting and planting. As well i put some stuff outside to harden off and make some room in the greenhouse. It did not go as well as planned....
